Chef Nick Abeyta

Stella’s has long been a West 32nd favorite for its comfortable atmosphere, for its charming, bustling patio, and for its delicious house-made meals. Chef Nick Abeyta’s background is in pastries and he is a huge proponent of blending interestingly sweet and salty flavors.  Stella’s kitchen is one full of camaraderie.  Chef Nick invites all his staff to be heavily involved in designing the menu.  He has also continued serving dishes of previous Stella’s chefs.  Looking at the menu is almost like looking at Trattoria Stella’s high school yearbook, each chef having left their note. We love the crispy prosciutto salad, perfect for summer nights with a glass of rosé on the patio. All pastas are house-made. They range from light 32nd Street Pasta to hearty Mustard Brie Pasta.  Entrées and nightly specials include quality local ingredients prepared with exceptional technique by the kitchen staff.  Chef Nick is continuously debuting new items and will be featuring entrées served as appetizers during an open house on May 31st. A sommelier will be on hand, offering four wine tastings for $5.  Old and new, sweet and savory, Stella’s has found the perfect equilibrium in flavor.
