Drinking with Lydia, The Lady Ghost Scantily Clad In Red
Have a drink with the Blake Street Vault‘s lady ghost, Lydia, and you will be introduced to the bar’s rich past. A former saloon girl who inhabited the place when it was one of Denver’s first saloons in the 1860s, Lydia’s red silhouette is still spotted from time to time.
Perhaps she would be able to bring some light to the use of the ornate vault that Blake Street Vault is named after. Having had resided under a trap door for over a century, the vault was recently uncovered, reminding all of the building’s long, relatively unknown past.
This colored past has been artfully muddled with the present to create one of LoDo’s hippest bars. A gathering spot for the young, the old, and everyone in between, the Blake Street Vault offers over ten micro-brew beers, wines, and spirits that span from the most basic to the finest in town. Enjoy local micro-brew from Oskar Blues, Avery or Prost, or sip Jack Daniel’s for half price every Wednesday. Or join a craft beer tour on Wednesday’s and taste some of the local microbrew and get a tour, you might even see Lydia yourself.
A lady ghost and a mysterious vault come together to form a montage that tells the story of Blake Street Vault’s rich past. It is this uncanny and slightly eerie backdrop that makes getting a drink at Blake Street Vault so unique, whether with a ghost or not.
